Semarang – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) launched by the Minister of Education and Culture is a framework to prepare students to become strong scholars, relevant to the needs of the times, and ready to become leaders with a high national spirit. Permendikbud Number 3 of 2020 concerning National Higher Education Standards gives students the right to study outside their study program for three semesters. Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is an international mobility program for Indonesian students that opens opportunities for students from universities in Indonesia to take part in the learning process at reputable universities anywhere in the world to enrich and improve their insights and competencies in the real world in accordance with their interests and ideals.

Naufal Tala Musthofa, a student of TRKP awardee IISMA to Cheng Shiu University Taiwan, shared his extraordinary experience participating in this program organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. Many experiences gained from this program both academic and non-academic. Naufal Tala majored in Mechanical Engineering with experience gained Computer-aided design, Precision measurement and inspection practice, Lab View Course, CNC Course, Priciples and application of Robotic Arm, English Writing, Ansys Static Structural and Mandarin Class.

In addition to academic activities, Non-Academic activities were introduced, for example, Indonesian Cultural Days, Industrial Exposure Series, namely Industrial visits on CNC machines. And a Cultural city visit in Taiwan. Do not forget the clothes used, namely using batik clothes as the identity of the Indonesian state.

Naufal Tala said Overall, IISMA has Become a beautiful chapter that I wrote in the book of my life journey. I learned new things in the field of mechanical engineering, met many new friends, and adapted to a new culture. The hope is that for the next generation, it can be more active to participate in international standard activities, especially in this era of wide open opportunities.
