China, September 4, 2024 – The Marine Construction Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP) at the Vocational School of Diponegoro University (SV Undip) recently began a collaboration with Jiangsu Shipping College from China, a vocational institution that focuses on education and the shipping industry. The meeting was held at the campus of China’s Jiangsu Shipping College, where the two sides agreed to explore collaboration opportunities in the field of maritime and shipping education.
This activity was represented by Vice Dean I, Dr. Ida Hayu Dwimawanti, MM, and Vice Dean II, Dr. Eng. Vita Paramita, S.T., M.M., M.Eng. From the Jiangsu side, representatives from the province were also present. The Marine Construction Engineering Technology Study Program was represented by Dr. Zulfaidah Ariany, ST, MT, Fitria Herawati, ST, and 12 Undip students. This activity lasted for ten days, from September 3 to September 13, 2024.
In this initiative, SV Undip hopes that the collaboration with Jiangsu Shipping College can increase opportunities for students in terms of knowledge exchange, practice in the shipping sector, and skill development in the maritime sector. The Dean of Undip SV, Prof. Dr. Budiono, said that this collaboration will also support Undip’s target to become a world-class university that is able to compete internationally. In addition, the Head of the TRKP Study Program, Dr. Mohd Ridwan, hopes that this collaboration can strengthen relationships in the industrial and education sectors, as well as support student growth in a competitive global environment.
Jiangsu Shipping College has programs such as the School of Navigation Technology and the School of Marine Engineering, which are considered relevant to Undip’s vision in the development of maritime education. It is hoped that this collaboration can have a positive impact, especially in building graduate competencies in the field of shipping engineering technology that is increasingly advanced and integrated with the needs of the international maritime industry
