Semarang, November 30, 2024 – Himpunan Mahasiswa Teknik Perkapalan (Himatekpal) of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University successfully held a Career Readiness Workshop on Saturday (30/11) at the Undip Vocational School Building, Semarang. This activity aims to equip students with the skills and insights needed to face the world of work in the shipping and maritime sectors.
This workshop carries the theme “Preparing a Competent and Competitive Vocational Generation in the Global World of Work”. The event was attended by TRKP students from various generations and presented professional speakers from the shipping industry. Yashiruz Yuama said “In addition to technical expertise, the industry also assesses interpersonal skills. Students need to have good communication skills and be able to work in a team,”

This activity was divided into 2 sessions, namely Self-Development and Technical SkillsIn this session, participants received material on the importance of understanding the needs of the modern maritime industry, including technical skills such as CAD-based ship design, ship engine maintenance, and ship energy management. The second is the Soft Skills and Job Application Preparation Session.The speakers also provide guidance on how to create an attractive CV, face job interviews, and build effective communication in a professional environment.
This workshop reflects the commitment of the Undip Vocational School to produce graduates who are not only academically superior, but also professionally ready. With events like this, TRKP Undip continues to show its dedication in supporting the development of the maritime and shipping sectors in Indonesia. “We are optimistic that TRKP students will be able to become a vocational generation that brings positive changes to the national and international maritime world,” said the Head of Study Program, Dr. Mohd.
