Surabaya – Alumni who are members of the Undip Shipping Engineering Alumni Association are holding a national seminar, national deliberation and reunion at the Mercure Grand Mirama Hotel Surabaya, 30 September 2023. The theme of this seminar is “Prospects for Ship Fleet Needs in Indonesia in the future for progress and advancement National maritime industry”. Hundreds of alumni came to Surabaya from academics, entrepreneurs, industrial practitioners and institutions. “Together for a Better Future is the tagline that enlivens this event.

“Surabaya has a world-class shipping industry. “Many of our alumni also work in shipyards and the shipping industry in East Java, especially Surabaya,” said Andhi Prasetyo, Chief Executive of the IV IKA Undip Ship National Conference, Saturday, 31/09/2023. Andhi revealed that, as is known, the world maritime axis is a policy launched by President Jokowi on November 13 2014 at the 9th East Asian Summit Forum. There are five pillars in collaborating on the world maritime axis, namely Maritime Culture, Maritime Economy, Maritime Connectivity, Maritime Diplomacy, and Maritime Security.

“It is clear that Indonesia wants to become the world’s maritime axis. “There is a strong desire to make Indonesia a large, strong and prosperous maritime country by restoring Indonesia’s identity as a maritime nation,” he added. In this context, Ika Kapal Undip wants to contribute ideas so that the goal of making Indonesia the world’s maritime axis can be realized. “Alumni with their social networks can participate in improving the quality of shipping human resource graduates who can support Undip’s contribution in developing the maritime industry, especially shipping. in Indonesia and internationally,”
