Semarang, September 4, 2024 – In order to broaden students’ horizons about the world of the shipping industry, the Naval Construction Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKP) of the Diponegoro University Vocational School (Undip) held an industrial visit to Jiangsu Hantong Wing Heavy Industry, one of the leading shipbuilding companies in China.
This visit is part of a program to strengthen student competencies in the field of ship building production and a direct introduction to the large-scale ship production process. A total of 12 TRKP students along with accompanying lecturers visited the company’s facility located in Jiangsu, China, and had the opportunity to learn about the latest technology used in the shipbuilding industry.
During the visit, students were invited to tour the shipyard area, including a steel fabrication workshop, a ship assembly dock, and an automation technology control center. Students were also given an explanation of the ship design process, module manufacturing, to the integration of modern ship machinery and electronics systems.

This is very relevant to what we learned at TRKP,” he said.
In addition, students were also invited to discuss with experts in the field of ship design and engineering, who explained the importance of innovation in facing the challenges of the global maritime industry.
