Semarang, January 11, 2025 — Building A.3.3 of the Vocational School of Diponegoro University witnessed the grand event of the Diponegoro Ship and Race Competition 2025. Carrying the theme “High-Tech K3 for Tanker Ships,” this event attracted the enthusiasm of students from campuses throughout Indonesia This event started at 08.00 WIB with the official opening by the Head of the Undip Vocational School Study Program, Dr. Mohd. Ridwan, S.T., M.T. who emphasized the importance of applying modern technology in occupational safety and health (K3) in the tanker industry. “Technological improvements in the maritime sector not only increase efficiency, but also be able to minimize work risks which have been a big challenge,” said Dr. Mohd. Ridwan in his remarks.

A Series of Inspiring Events
This event consists of several interesting activities, including:
1.High-Tech K3-Based Tanker Design Competition Participants were pitted against each other in designing tankers that integrate modern safety features such as hazardous gas detection sensors, automatic fire extinguishing systems, and advanced evacuation tools.
2.Tanker Boat Race Competition In this competition, participants compete to operate miniature tankers designed to demonstrate speed, efficiency, and safety. The ships use the latest technology.

One of the Amtsal committees, Marine Construction Engineering Technology, expressed his joy. “This event really opened up our insights into how modern technology can be applied in the maritime sector, especially for tankers that have high risks.”
The highlight of the event was marked by the announcement of the winner of the tanker design competition, where the first place was the Endurance Team Cakalang 21 from PPNS, the second place was the Endurance Team Hydromodelling 1 from ITS, the third place was the Endurance Team Cakalang 23 from PPNS, the Best Design Team was the 21 Skipjack Team from PPNS, and the Fun Race Team Sikamali 1 was from UNHAS.

The Diponegoro Ship and Race Competition 2025 has succeeded in providing inspiration and new insights into the importance of high technology in the application of K3 in the maritime industry. Great hopes arise from various parties that similar events can continue to be held as a form of real contribution to the world of education in supporting the progress of Indonesia’s maritime sector.
