Dewi, Zalfa, Andre, Frans are all students of the class of 2023. who interned at PT Dok Kodja Bahari for one month from January 14, 2025 to February 14, 2025. For internships at DKB are placed in various divisions, in the first week we are placed in the construction section, the second week we are placed in the QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) section, and the third and fourth weeks we are in the marketing section.
For the first week in the construction section, we learned a lot of things such as how to build a new ship. Students were explained how to start building a ship and were introduced to its various machines, then how the ship was about to dock
Students gain a deeper understanding of the shipbuilding industry, starting from the shipbuilding process, ship repair, to other docking services. This industry has very complex dynamics and involves various aspects, such as engineering, business, regulations, and customer relationships. We hope that the knowledge and experience gained during this internship can be useful provisions in the world of work, especially in the shipping industry. In addition, I hope to better understand the dynamics of maritime business and expand professional connections.
One of the interesting things about this internship experience is how the theory we have learned in college can be applied in real conditions in the industry. This internship experience opened our insight that the industrial world is not only about theory, but also about how it is applied effectively to achieve the company’s business and operational goals.
Internship at PT Dok Kodja Bahari is a valuable experience for students. We learned a lot of new lessons, met professionals in their fields, and learned to work in a team in an industrial environment. Students get a real picture of how the industrial world works, especially in terms of marketing and business strategy in the shipping sector. “We would like to thank PT Dok Kodja Bahari for giving us the opportunity to learn and develop during this internship. Hopefully the knowledge and experience we have gained can be a useful provision for us in the future,” said Zalfa.
